How to Deploy Your Kami School or District Plan

TRANSCRIPT

Access your Kami License Dashboard

To access your Kami license dashboard, hit the top right-hand corner of the menu bar and click on your Kami profile.

Click “License Dashboard,” then “Administer License.” Welcome to your Kami license dashboard. Here you’ll find everything about your Kami license.

If it’s active, your license type, how many seats you have, active users, and how many students are awaiting sign up. Awaiting sign up means they haven’t created a Kami account yet. But once they log into Kami using their school email address, their license will automatically activate.

For school-wide and district-wide deployments, we have three options to add users to your Kami license:

Option 1: Add users manually via email

If you want to add users via email address, go to your license dashboard. Start by clicking on your profile in Kami, click “License Dashboard,” then “Administer License.”

Scroll down to “Add users to license.” From here, you can add anyone to the license by typing their emails into the box. You can separate them by commas or have one email per line.

To upload users via a CSV file, scroll down to “Add/Remove user to license using CSV.” Make sure you create a CSV with a header row for email and add all the emails in new rows below. For anyone in need, we’ve created a downloadable sample CSV file to make sure it’s in the right format.

Anyone who already has a Kami account linked to that email address will have auto access to the license. New users will have their license loaded as soon as they create their Kami account.

Option 2: Google Workspace Organizational Unit

Option two is through Google Workspace Organizational Unit. First, you’ll need to make sure that you’re a Kami license admin and a Google Workspace admin for your school.

Scroll down to “Deploy Google Workspace Organizational Unit.” Next, you’ll be asked to authorize your Google Workspace admin account.

After authorizing your account, you’ll have the ability to select the organizational units and deploy the license out to the users you’d like to add.

Option 3: Domain-Wide Licenses

Domain-wide licenses automatically cover all Kami accounts that are registered using the same domain your license is deployed to. This removes the need of adding users manually.

For example, if a license is deployed to @kamiteachers.com and @kamistudents.com domains, all users who sign into the Kami app using either of those domains will be connected to the license right away.
