With tech and connectivity comes endless amounts of information in endless forms.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s an overwhelming thought to wrangle, but with the right approach comes a unique opportunity for teachers to expand the knowledge of students in and out of the classroom.<\/p>\n<p>As soon as we starting talking about integrating tech like Kami for daily use, important questions start flying. Luckily, I have some answers!<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- .et_pb_text -->\n<div>\n<div><iframe title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/KBL52g7FUMA\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- .et_pb_code --><\/div>\n<!-- .et_pb_column --><\/div>\n<!-- .et_pb_row -->\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<h5>How does Kami empower voice and choice?<\/h5>\n<p>As some students learn better from reading text, while others thrive on video content; there\u2019s clearly no \u201cone way\u201d to teach. So, when looking to empower voice and choice, Kami\u2019s your go-to.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Kami\u2019s packed with tools to create new and exciting activities, while also providing ways to lift and shift existing lessons to really bring the magic! Just upload your files and instantly convert them to Kami docs. Kami\u2019s ability to read PDFs, Word docs, PowerPoint slides and more, creates a unique space for students to explore heaps of new ways to learn.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Another bonus is Kami\u2019s ability to open Google files and integrate their own tools with existing ones. Meaning students can now voice their learning with audio, video, and screen sharing comments. Plus, Google docs can be read to students using Kami\u2019s text to speech tool, and students who struggle to type can use Kami\u2019s text to speech option.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>These tools give students a chance to voice their learning in new and exciting ways, shaking up existing lessons for the better. But it doesn\u2019t stop at the above:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p>Add Media: With this tool, teachers are able to insert YouTube videos directly into their documents.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>RTE Text Box: This feature provides students with heaps of fun ways to demonstrate their learning e.g. Emoji writing activities using the emojis that are included in the text box option, even mix up text and emoji storytelling \u2013 hello creativity!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Blank Documents: These empty pages are perfect for capturing notes for students in real-time.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Screen Capture Comments: Make a recording of your note-taking to give students the choice between reviewing the notes, or watching the video of your lesson.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- .et_pb_text --><\/div>\n<!-- .et_pb_column --><\/div>\n<!-- .et_pb_row -->\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<h5>What about once assignments are done?<\/h5>\n<p>The idea of voice and choice isn\u2019t reserved for while students are learning. With Kami, teachers can provide feedback in a number of ways for a number of special preferences:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p>Media Comments: Teachers can verbalize feedback for students who prefer this style, or as a simple way to get more elaborate comments across.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Annotation Bank: This feature speeds up the marking process by saving repeatable feedback notes to an easily accessible area. This style of export is super helpful for those studying for exams or annotating large documents, as it creates a much easier read end product.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- .et_pb_text --><\/div>\n<!-- .et_pb_column --><\/div>\n<!-- .et_pb_row -->\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p>If you\u2019re still looking for the \u201cwhy\u201d when it comes to integrating tech into classrooms, take a moment to ask yourself: &#8220;How do I best learn information as an adult?&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>For me, I sometimes prefer to watch YouTube videos. Other times, I need the info in writing, like a blog or article. Yet, every now and then, I need a physical demonstration to fully understand the concept.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Adults are given full control of voice and choice, like right now; this blog is the written, more condensed version of my Kami Connect session. But, you\u2019ve had the choice to watch me live with a Q&amp;A, recorded (without the distractions of a full event), and now in written form \u2013 all thanks to tech. No doubt you\u2019ve had a preference with how you initially absorb the info, to how you come back to it later on.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Students don\u2019t always have this flexibility \u2013 they rely on the methods and access supplied by their teachers.
