This is to save you time when providing rich and detailed feedback for every student.\u00a0<\/p><p><strong>Delete All Annotations:<\/strong>\u00a0Now remove all annotations on your documents in just one click \u2013 keeping whiteboard documents fresh and ready for your next lesson. For smaller tweaks, we\u2019ll also be making it possible to delete individual annotations in the coming weeks.<\/p><p><strong>Faster Grading:\u00a0<\/strong>We\u2019ve leveled up our grading, making it work faster through our Chrome extension. Loading documents is now a lot quicker on Google Classroom, too.\u00a0<\/p><p><strong>Feature Restrictions:<\/strong>\u00a0This function is now available for Canvas.\u00a0<\/p><p><strong>OneDrive integration:<\/strong>\u00a0To our One Drive users: Kami is now fully integrated with OneDrive!\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><p><strong>Turn In button:<\/strong>\u00a0Our \u2018Turn In\u2019 button now shows up in more places for Google Classroom.<\/p><\/div><\/div><p><!-- .et_pb_text --><\/p><\/div><p><!-- .et_pb_column --><\/p><\/div><p><!-- .et_pb_row --><\/p><div><div><div><div><h5>\u00a0<\/h5><h5>What Kami product updates are baking in 2021<\/h5><p>Now, we didn\u2019t want to present just another tech update to you all \u2013 instead, we\u2019re using a delicious metaphor to help bring the layers of our product update to life.\u00a0<\/p><p>So today, we\u2019re baking a Kami cake! Because who doesn\u2019t love cake??<\/p><\/div><\/div><p><!-- .et_pb_text --><\/p><\/div><p><!-- .et_pb_column --><\/p><\/div><p><!-- .et_pb_row --><\/p><div><div><div><div><h6>Reliability: The Cake Foundations<\/h6><\/div><\/div><p><!-- .et_pb_text --><\/p><div><div><p>We\u2019ll start with the foundation of our Kami cake.\u00a0<\/p><p>It has to be strong, reliable, robust, and full of flavor \u2013 even when the internet isn\u2019t working.\u00a0<\/p><p>Recently, Kami has seen record usage. And with more use, comes more opportunity to identify bugs or odd imperfections that we haven\u2019t previously been able to see.\u00a0<\/p><p>So we did what any rational team would do, and shifted our engineering resources to focus on the reliability and stability of Kami, instead of focusing on the next new features. We want you to feel like Kami \u201cjust works\u201d in the ways that you need it to.<\/p><\/div><\/div><p><!-- .et_pb_text --><\/p><div><div><p>For example, remote working has put Kami\u2019s offline mode to the test. That\u2019s why we spent a significant amount of our engineering time making sure your work is secure and never lost. You\u2019ll definitely notice that things \u201cjust work\u201d better now. \u00a0<\/p><\/div><\/div><p><!-- .et_pb_text --><\/p><\/div><p><!-- .et_pb_column --><\/p><\/div><p><!-- .et_pb_row --><\/p><div><div><div><div><h6>Integration: The frosting in between<\/h6><\/div><\/div><p><!-- .et_pb_text --><\/p><div><div><p>One thing we strive for with Kami is seamless integration with different Learning Management Systems \u2013 like the way frosting seamlessly integrates between layers of cake; it\u2019s there to not only support our foundations but as a way of working in a little more of the good stuff we know and love!<\/p><p>Starting with Google Classroom, we have two updates to share:<\/p><\/div><\/div><p><!-- .et_pb_text --><\/p><div><div><ul><li><strong>Photo to PDF:<\/strong>\u00a0Student-submitted photo files will now auto-upload as PDF files, once you\u2019re done annotating in Kami, so students without Kami can see all your markups!\u00a0<\/li><li><strong>Publish Changes:<\/strong> Stress no more \u2013 Publish Changes is a new way to push out live changes to an assignment after it\u2019s been sent. We\u2019ve got your back!<\/li><\/ul><\/div><\/div><p><!-- .et_pb_text --><\/p><div><div><p>Next up, Canvas:<\/p><\/div><\/div><p><!-- .et_pb_text --><\/p><div><div><ul><li><strong>Copy a Course support:<\/strong> You can now copy and share assignments with other courses and teachers!<\/li><li><strong>Observers:<\/strong>\u00a0Kami supports co-teacher, parent, and administration observers \u2013 allowing for real-time monitoring of student work.<\/li><li><strong>Feature Restriction:<\/strong>\u00a0We now have feature restrictions for Canvas to give teachers the ability to turn on just the tools they want students to use for a particular assignment.<\/li><li><strong>Kami Tab:<\/strong>\u00a0Quickly access Kami documents from inside Canvas \u2013 find recently opened files and start from where you left off.<\/li><\/ul><\/div><\/div><p><!-- .et_pb_text --><\/p><div><div><p>To make sure you can fully access these updates, simply reinstall the Kami External App through our new Canvas installer. This way, everything will automatically update without losing any work. For help on how to do this, <a href=\"https:\/\/help.kamiapp.com\/en\/articles\/5384023-automatic-canvas-integration-setup\">click here<\/a>.<\/p><\/div><\/div><p><!-- .et_pb_text --><\/p><div><div><p>And last, but definitely not least, Schoology:<\/p><\/div><\/div><p><!-- .et_pb_text --><\/p><div><div><ul><li><strong>iPad integration:<\/strong>\u00a0We\u2019re making it super easy to open assignments into Kami &#8211; all from Schoology\u2019s iOS app.<\/li><li><strong>Turn In support:\u00a0<\/strong>We\u2019re about to rebuild our \u201cTurn In\u201d feature to work without the need for our Chrome Extension \u2013 making it more reliable.<\/li><li><strong>File organization:<\/strong>\u00a0We\u2019ve automated a better organization of files on Google Drive and One Drive. So your student copies will be organized by course.<\/li><\/ul><\/div><\/div><p><!-- .et_pb_text --><\/p><div><div><p>Oh, there was one other thing\u2026 Microsoft Teams!<\/p><p>We\u2019re teaming up with Microsoft to bring you Kami\u2019s very own Microsoft Teams integration. Under our hamburger icon, you\u2019ll be able to go to Document Properties and see how many words were typed into text boxes.<\/p><p><strong>Colour palette:\u00a0<\/strong>Last year, we upgraded our color palette to 250 colors. But in true Kami style, we\u2019re going bigger. So, we\u2019ll be releasing a color wheel feature!<\/p><p><strong>New paper types:\u00a0<\/strong>This was an update inspired by our community\u2019s feedback! Soon we\u2019ll have a range of new paper types, including\u00a0<\/p><ul><li aria-level=\"1\">Writing paper<\/li><li aria-level=\"1\">Venn diagram template\u00a0<\/li><li aria-level=\"1\">Cornell notes\u00a0<\/li><li aria-level=\"1\">Isometric paper;\u00a0<\/li><li aria-level=\"1\">Different kinds of line colors for elementary\u00a0<\/li><li aria-level=\"1\">1-inch graph sheets with graph templates\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><p>Whatever paper helps you and your students learn, we\u2019ll have it!<\/p><\/div><\/div><p><!-- .et_pb_text --><\/p><\/div><p><!-- .et_pb_column --><\/p><\/div><p><!-- .et_pb_row --><\/p><div><div><div><div><h6>Fun features: The cherry on top<\/h6><\/div><\/div><p><!-- .et_pb_text --><\/p><div><div><p>Of course, this wouldn\u2019t be a Kami product update without some fun features.\u00a0Just like it wouldn\u2019t be a Kami cake without the fun toppings.\u00a0<\/p><p>With back to school fast approaching, we have some exciting little surprises for you, including:<\/p><p><strong>Interactive Kami seating charts:<\/strong> Keep your eyes peeled for this fun resource that will help you build your best Kami classroom.<\/p><\/div><\/div><div><p><strong>New back-to-school stickers:<\/strong>\u00a0You\u2019ll find these in the stickers tool over the coming weeks.<\/p><p><strong>Coming soon:<\/strong> Kami Rewards:\u00a0For years, you all have been spreading the word about Kami without us even having to ask \u2013 so it\u2019s about time you got rewarded for it.\u00a0<\/p><p>Kami Rewards is our new referral program; every time you share the Kami love with teachers, and they sign up, you\u2019ll earn points to unlock unique Kami features like exclusive stickers, personalized Kami-mojis and lots more to be announced soon.<\/p><p>Available late August to early September.
