Education influencers are increasingly discussing the importance of creating resources focused on learning outcomes rather than aesthetics. With this in mind, we reached out to three of our favorite influencers within the teaching community, and asked them to collaborate with us to create three unique \u2014 and totally free \u2014 Kami resources that have a clear, developmental outcome in mind. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This blog is all about these three influencers, their niche within the education influencer space, and the Kami resources we made in collaboration with them. Hopefully, what we came up with will be an invaluable resource for your students, as they progress along their learning journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Stephanie is an experienced middle school teacher and education influencer in the math space. She\u2019s taught on the east and west coast of the USA and currently teaches in Southern California.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We reached out to Stephanie asking if she\u2019d like us to make her a custom Kami resource. She was super excited and told us about her need for a resource to help her students practice creating and interpreting graphs. We loved her idea, and our engineers got to work creating a resource for Stephanie and all the grades 5\u201311 teachers and students who use graphs to show statistical data. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Our engineers came up with the Graph Paper Template<\/strong>! Not only does it have fully customizable graph paper for plotting points, naming quadrants, or drawing shapes, but it\u2019s also got a space below the graph to make notes or calculations \u2014 oh and of course, there\u2019s a space above for students to write their names and the date (we can\u2019t promise they\u2019ll use it!). <\/p>\n\n\n\n Once they\u2019ve downloaded the template, teachers and students are able to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n You can find Stephanie on Instagram<\/a>, Twitter<\/a>, and Tiktok<\/a> sharing her favorite math moments!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Alison is a first-grade teacher from New Hampshire, USA, who loves to share teacher hacks, quotes from her first graders, teaching resources, and general teaching comedy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Alison really cares about high-quality classroom and digital resources for first and second graders, as this is such a crucial developmental age. She encourages her followers to always put the students\u2019 learning first when creating resources or decorating the classroom. <\/p>\n\n\n\n When we asked Alison if she\u2019d like us to make a custom Kami resource for her, she replied with an awesome idea! What about an interactive resource to help first-graders tackle three-letter English words?<\/p>\n\n\n\n We did a little research, and our engineers came up with the idea of creating an interactive CVC resource suitable for first and second-grade students. We also made sure to steer clear of cursive fonts (thanks Alison!) to ensure optimum readability!<\/p>\n\n\n\n CVC stands for consonant, vowel, consonant, and is one of the simplest ways to construct a word in the English language. You all remember \u201cthe cat sat <\/em>on the mat<\/em>,\u201d right? <\/p>\n\n\n\n Kami\u2019s CVC Template is a fun and engaging way for students to practice forming, spelling, and speaking foundational words, as they begin to expand their vocabulary. Students can drag and drop the consonants and vowels to create the word to match the picture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Once they\u2019ve downloaded the template, teachers and students are able to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n You can find Alison on <\/a>Tiktok<\/a> and Instagram<\/a> sharing her unique insights on first-grade teaching!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Jere Chang is a gifted education teacher in an elementary school in Atlanta, GA, USA, with over 25 years of experience. She loves the outdoors and takes pride in educating people about the LGBTQ+ community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We asked Jere if she\u2019d like us to create a Kami resource that\u2019s specifically designed with her gifted education specialism in mind. She had the idea for an interactive resource that allowed students to use Kami\u2019s drag-and-drop capabilities with polygons to create specific shapes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Our designers put their heads together and came up with a Tangram Puzzle Template. Using only seven polygons, students try to combine the polygons to match the shape they\u2019re given.
