The Internet is everywhere\u2026 except when you need it most! For teachers and students with an unreliable or nonexistent wifi connection, Kami\u2019s offline mode makes asynchronous remote learning possible.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>
Here is everything you need to know about working offline with Kami:<\/strong><\/p>
What can you do in Kami\u2019s offline mode?<\/h5>
The beauty of Kami\u2019s offline mode is that you can do almost everything in the app that you would normally do, just without the internet. This includes:<\/span><\/p>
Editing any document type using our array of tools such as text boxes, freehand drawing or shapes.<\/span><\/li>
Annotate files using the text, voice or video comments.<\/span><\/li>
Insert shapes and images.\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul>

Is there anything you can\u2019t do in Kami\u2019s offline mode?<\/h5>
Sadly some of our tools do require a direct internet connection. These are:<\/span><\/p>
The Dictionary Tool, as this requires connecting to the Oxford Dictionary definitions.<\/span><\/li>
Downloading your doc as PDF.<\/span><\/li>
Text to speech (depending on your device, some will work).\u00a0<\/span><\/li>
Speech to text.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>
Google Drive syncing.<\/span><\/li><\/ul>
How to use Kami in offline mode<\/h5>
Follow these simple steps to successfully use Kami\u2019s offline mode:<\/span><\/p>
1. Open your chosen PDF file while connected to the internet.<\/strong> Google Classroom, Schoology and Canvas assignments can also be opened within Kami at this stage. Offline Access is supported in recent versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge.<\/span><\/p>
2. Let any annotations already on the file load up.<\/strong> You will be able to watch, read or listen to comments already inserted by a collaborator or teacher in offline mode.<\/span><\/p>
