For the best experience of Kami, we suggest using either a Chromebook or a Mac\/Windows\/Linux computer.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is possible to use Kami on an iPad, however as Chrome Extensions are not supported by Google Chrome on iOS, many features do not work as they would on another device.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In this article, we will explain how to use, access, and open Google Classroom assignments in Kami with an iPad.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><h4>Is there a Kami app for iOS?<\/h4><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We currently do not have a Kami iOS app. This means you will not be able to find Kami on the App Store. Our current mission for Kami is to make it the best it can possibly be in the Chrome environment, so though we do have future plans for an iOS app, it is unlikely to be ready soon.<\/span><\/p><h4>Can you access Kami on an iPad?<\/h4><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Yes, you can still access Kami on an iPad. This can be done through your browser.<\/span><\/p><h5>To access Kami on an iPad:<\/h5><ol><li>Go to <a href=\"http:\/\/web.kamiapp.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">web.kamiapp.com<\/a> in your browser.<\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click <\/span><b>Sign in<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and log in using your Google account details.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Load up the Kami document using the <\/span><b>Open from Google Drive <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">for any files assigned via Google Classroom or <\/span><b>Open from Computer <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">options.<\/span><\/li><\/ol><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once your file has loaded up in Kami you can make full use of the toolbar, with some notable exceptions. You will not be able to:<\/span><\/p><ul><li>Make video, audio, or screen share comments.<\/li><li>View existing audio or video comments.<\/li><li>Use Speech-to-Text to transcribe.<\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All other tools will function as normal and edits to docs will be synced to Google Drive.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><h4>How to open a Google Classroom assignment with Kami on an iPad<\/h4><p class=\"no-margin\">Google Classroom Assignments can be opened and completed in Kami on an iPad using the following instructions:<\/p><p><iframe title=\"Kami &amp; Google Classroom for iPads\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/KwOtsomrrr0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p><h4>1. Assigning work on Google Classroom to be opened on an iPad<\/h4><p class=\"no-margin\">For teachers assigning work in Google Classroom, follow these instructions to allow students to open the work on an iPad:<\/p><ul><li>Go to <a href=\"https:\/\/classroom.google.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Google Classroom<\/a>, then go to the Classwork tab. Click Create, then select Kami assignment.<b> <\/b><\/li><\/ul><div class=\"intercom-container intercom-align-center\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/kami.intercom-attachments-7.com\/i\/o\/237594781\/833baa0d267714cb83075eba\/BTpvBu6wT0OX2xGPJQyPauEng35h0TQvTH2ZGas5k8gh0tsOJi9HsLV5H1BDnla1QVQ5gGf6eTMmPCV9pjLTNckdqce4_7rga7nMifWJomOrkdUnwldo4yGoo_8aMNFVrmHF7J6o\" width=\"425\" height=\"503\" \/><\/div><ul><li>Fill in all the fields required.<\/li><li>Attach a file from Google Drive or from your computer. We recommend selecting <strong>Make a copy<\/strong> for each student (selecting <strong>Students share one copy<\/strong> means they will all be annotating the original).<\/li><li>Mark the checkbox in the bottom right corner<i> <\/i><b>Open with Kami.<\/b><\/li><\/ul><div class=\"intercom-container\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/downloads.intercomcdn.com\/i\/o\/237594219\/b87384661e7c99ff67290aff\/ipad+screen+shot+47.jpg\" \/><\/div><ul><li>Click <strong>Assign<\/strong> to complete this step.<\/li><\/ul><p class=\"no-margin\"><i>Note: These steps must be performed on a Chromebook or a Mac\/Windows\/Linux computer. You cannot create Kami Assignments through Google Classroom on an iPad.<\/i><\/p><h4>2. Opening and completing a Google Classroom assignment in Kami on an iPad<\/h4><p class=\"no-margin\">For students opening a Google Classroom assignment in Kami on an iPad, follow these instructions:<\/p><ul><li>Go to <a href=\"https:\/\/classroom.google.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Google Classroom<\/a>, then choose a class from the list of classes you\u2019re enrolled in.<\/li><li>Click the<b> Classwork<\/b> tab to view work that has been assigned to you, then select the assignment you wish to work on.<\/li><li>Under attachments click the <b>Open with Kami via Kami<\/b> button. This will open a new browser window with your assignment loaded up in Kami.<\/li><\/ul><div class=\"intercom-container\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/downloads.intercomcdn.com\/i\/o\/237594734\/6aacf0524fafd8fbccd3bfb7\/ipad+screen+shot+50.jpg\" width=\"607\" height=\"369\" \/><\/div><ul><li>Use all the Kami tools as you usually would to complete your work.<\/li><li>Click the <b>Turn in<\/b> button when you have finished to submit your work.<\/li><li>Click <b>Done<\/b> in the top left corner to complete the submission process.<\/li><\/ul><h4 id=\"can-you-use-google-classroom-to-grade-on-an-ipad\" data-post-processed=\"true\">Can you use Google Classroom to grade on an iPad?<\/h4><p class=\"no-margin\">Unfortunately, you cannot grade with Kami on an iPad.
