Materials, assessment formats, practice quizzes, and efficient grading methods all have to be sussed out along the way. Here\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kamiapp.com\/?utm_source=Kami%20Blog%20post&amp;utm_medium=Text%20link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">how Kami can help you<\/a> out this assessment season.\u00a0<\/p><h5>How can you use Kami for assessments?<\/h5><p>Kami is primarily an educational tool designed for collaborative work and thoughtful document editing, however many of its functions can also be used to facilitate key activities in assessment season:\u00a0<\/p><h5>1. Formative assessment<\/h5><p>Progress evaluations or formative testing provides both teachers and students with a vital indicator of how well lesson material is being understood and how to devise the next steps for learning. Your grading can then be sent back to students using a <a href=\"https:\/\/help.kamiapp.com\/en\/articles\/647938-how-can-i-share-my-file\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sharing Link<\/a>, so they can evaluate their work and even reply to your comments.\u00a0<\/p><h5>Kami for assessment FAQ<\/h5><p>Here are the answers to the most commonly asked questions about using Kami for assessment.<\/p><h5>Does Kami work in an offline mode?<\/h5><p>For carrying out assessments that require students to disconnect from the internet, Kami can be used in Offline Mode. In Offline Mode students will be able to use all the normal tools with the exception of the:<\/p><ul><li>The Dictionary Tool, as this requires connecting to the Oxford Dictionary definitions.<\/li><li>Downloading your doc as PDF.<\/li><li>Text to speech (depending on your device, some will work).\u00a0<\/li><li>Speech to Text.\u00a0<\/li><li>Google Drive syncing.<br \/><br \/><\/li><\/ul><p>You can learn more about how to use <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.kamiapp.com\/using-kami-in-offline-mode\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kami in Offline Mode here<\/a>.<\/p><h5>Can you revoke sharing access to stop students accessing each other\u2019s files?<\/h5><p>Unless students are working in Offline Mode, they will always be able to create a Sharing Link and send their work to others &#8211; there is no way to limit a Kami file to one person.<\/p><p>However, if you have serious concerns about students swapping answers, you can try using Kami\u2019s assignment <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kamiapp.com\/integrations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">integration features<\/a> to send different tests to different groups of students. Here\u2019s how:<\/p><p>If you are setting a math quiz, you can create several variations of the test, each containing different questions. You then assign the varied quizzes to small groups of students within your class using your LMS or simply by sending a link. Students will not be able to see who has the same quiz as them, so it will minimize the ability to swap answers.\u00a0<\/p><h5>Can you switch off specific tools during an assessment?<\/h5><p>Individual Kami tools cannot be turned off during an assessment.
