Feature Control for sharing

Have even more say over which tools and features your students (or collaborators) have access to when completing individual assignments, with Feature Control. Previously called “Feature Restrictions” as part of our LMS integrations, you can now access Feature Control options from Kami’s own sharing feature. Tool and feature changes update in real-time, so anyone you shared the link with will get your latest modifications! Try it out:

• Go to Share Documents from the menu bar
• In Sharing Permission, choose Anyone with the link, then Create individual copy 
• Click Control Features to start modifying your settings. You can also choose to turn All On or All Off
• Click OK when done, Copy your unique Kami link, then share away!

Tool upgrade: Split & Merge and Text Recognition

The days of only being able to upload PDFs to Split & Merge are history! You can now upload more file types into the feature, plus run Text Recognition on more than just PDFs too! Expanding our file conversation support means you can upload images, Google Docs, and more. 

For Split & Merge:

• Open Split & Merge from the Kami Dashboard, or the Menu (hamburger icon)
• Drag and drop files, or choose files from your Google Drive or OneDrive.
• Start splitting and merging as usual!

For Text Recognition:

• Access Text Recognition from the Dashboard or the Menu.
• Simply drag and drop files you want to scan text for and Text Recognition will do the rest!

Add Media from your OneDrive

Adding a flourish of imagery or video to your Kami document just got a whole lot more accessible for Microsoft users. Now, you have the ability to access desired media straight from your OneDrive!

Simply go to Add Media and select OneDrive. Click through the authorization prompts then you should be good to go.

Coming soon: Microsoft Teams with Kami

We know you’ve been holding out for Kami on Microsoft Teams, and we’ve been working hard to make it happen!  With this integration, you and your students can enjoy your favorite Kami features, all within Microsoft Teams – plus, all your files will sync to OneDrive! 

A beta version is on its way, landing early 2022, and you could be one of the first to trial it – simply fill out this form and tick “Microsoft Team (beta)”
