Our Approach to Accessible Learning
At Kami, accessibility is closely connected to Universal Design for Learning (UDL). We believe learning environments should provide flexibility so that every learner can access information, engage with content, and demonstrate understanding in ways that work for them.
Our products are designed to support the three core principles of Universal Design for Learning.
Multiple Means of Representation
Tools are designed to support diverse learning preferences, attention needs, and levels of learner independence.
Multiple Means of Engagement
Learners can access information through different formats such as text, audio, visual supports, and multimedia.
Multiple Means of Action and Expression
Students can demonstrate understanding through writing, audio, drawing, multimedia creation, and other formats.
Accessibility helps remove barriers so that these flexible learning experiences are possible for all students.
Accessibility Standards
Kami works to align with internationally recognized accessibility standards, including:
- Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)2.1 Level AA
- Section 508of the Rehabilitation Act
- EN 301 549 European accessibility requirements
Each product within the Kami family publishes an Accessibility Conformance Report (ACR) using the VPAT template, describing how the product aligns with these standards.
Accessibility conformance is an ongoing effort. We continuously improve our products as standards evolve and as we receive feedback from users.
