Kami App for multilingual learners: your go-to for bridging the gap between rigorous content and a student’s current English level.
Embed background videos, highlight key vocabulary with a comment explaining it, and use the summarize and translate tools to give students a text in their first language.
Use these strategies before a lesson to build context, or whenever an article or passage is too dense for a student to access in English alone.
In this video, you’ll learn how to:
💜 Embed a YouTube video to build background knowledge
💜 Highlight key vocabulary with the markup tool and explain it in a comment
💜 Summarize a passage using the understand tool
💜 Move a summary to the margin before translating it
💜 Translate and read a summary aloud in a student’s first language
This lesson supports multilingual learners working with grade level or above grade level texts.
