Bracken High School aimed to move students from passive learning to active participation while improving administrative efficiency. Deputy Principal Dr. Jenny Woolway turned to Kami as a solution to enhance both teaching and school operations.

Boosting Engagement

Teachers at Bracken High School have seen a noticeable shift in student participation since implementing Kami. “The problem Kami has solved for our teachers is that learners have moved from being passive in class to actively engaged,” says Dr. Woolway.

Enhancing Accessibility

In subjects like biology, where complex terminology can be a barrier, students benefit from Dictionary and Read Aloud tools. “When they get terms they don’t understand, they can use the dictionary tool,” explains Dr. Woolway.

These tools provide differentiated learning opportunities, allowing students to work at their own pace and reinforcing key concepts in a way that suits their needs.

Simplifying Administration

Beyond student engagement, Kami has streamlined administrative workflows at Bracken High School. “We complete all our schedules with Kami and send them off for approval. We complete university documents, sign, stamp, date—it’s wonderful,” says Dr. Woolway.

The ability to complete, sign, and submit documents digitally has significantly reduced paperwork and administrative bottlenecks, giving staff more time to focus on supporting students and delivering high-quality instruction.

Real-Time Insights with Class View

Kami’s Class View in Google Classroom has transformed the way teachers monitor student progress. “You push out work and see all the children’s work at the same time. You can mark as they work, assist struggling students, and track progress instantly,” notes Dr. Woolway.

By allowing teachers to provide immediate feedback and identify students who need extra support, Class View helps ensure that no student falls behind. It also encourages peer learning, as teachers can prompt students to support one another in real time.

Comprehensive Training and Support

Bracken High School has found Kami’s training resources to be accessible and effective. “There are many online videos, and teachers can certify themselves. We were lucky to have a trainer visit us, and they were dynamic and excited about education.”

With self-paced certification options and on-demand support, Kami ensures that educators feel confident integrating the platform into their teaching.

Conclusion

Kami has become an essential tool at Bracken High School, fostering student engagement, improving accessibility, and streamlining administrative processes. By enabling real-time collaboration, personalized learning support, and efficient workflows, Kami has helped Bracken High School create a more effective and inclusive learning environment.

For education leaders looking to implement technology that enhances both teaching and school operations, Bracken High’s success with Kami provides a compelling example of digital transformation in action.
